This babe in cobalt is inspired by the celestial. When I made the bust she cracked in the kiln. Just a small bit of space separated by fire was supposed to make her unusable – but I repaired her and adorned her cobalt skin with a lovely silver. I didn’t want to hide her imperfection, I wanted to highlight it, it gives her muchness. Her bust was made from a vintage mold from 1974 and she is being held from a delicate silver chain – don’t worry, it's strong. The bust herself holds onto lovely strands of magic in the form of vintage, handmade, and modern charms. These include: new glass beads that are UV reactive, vintage beads including Japanese lampwork glass beads from the 60s, vintage German cloud bead, vintage lockets and one with a gorgeous green patina, a vintage roller skate charm from the 70s, hand made fused glass starbursts, teardrop, and droplet, modern charms like the chrome bubble star, moons, and tiny stars, a moonstone moon that I soldered (she is drippy and gorgeous), a hand soldered doll eye that opens and closes, 3D printed teeth that I dipped in resin, drilled, and turned into charms, modern silver bells, modern silver heart locket with a vintage cobalt blue glass cabochon, drilled pink stone heart, vintage silver cut glass charm, vintage acrylic celestial bead, a cute little pink bead from 70s Germany, hand fused clear glass teardrop that I soldered, modern balloon style silver starburst.
